What is Pond Hockey?
Who would have thought that back in the late 1800s, when a group of friends hit the ice for a little friendly competition, that it would someday turn into Canada's great sports legacy. Today Pond Hockey still harkens back to the roots of the game. Click here to see how it's played.

Why Play?
Better question - Why not! How often can you say that you are going to get together with your pals, out of town, play hockey, party and it's all for a good cause. The instances are few and far between. Take advantage of this legitimate, recreational, getaway weekend. And, oh ya, did we say road trip!

About Judy Taylor

We lost an incredible friend to sarcoma. Judy Taylor was an avid sports person, and an accomplished businesswoman with an incredible zest for life. Always up for a new experience, she lived a life much fuller than her 41 years - her positive approach, sense of humour & her infectious smile saw her through many of life's adventures both personally & professionally. Whether running marathons, skiing down double diamonds, building homes for Habitat for Humanity or completing a complicated banking deal, her approach was always the same - positive and determined while always having fun.

The Taylor Cup is in tribute and in memory of Judy, with funds raised benefiting the Princess Margaret Sarcoma Research Fund, to ultimately help others who are fighting this deadly disease.

Each year in Canada, hundreds of young people are diagnosed with some form of sarcoma. Sarcomas are rare and aggressive cancers. These malignant tumours can arise from muscles, bones, nerves, fat, blood vessels or connective tissue. But thanks to advances in research and treatment, today 70 percent of sarcoma patients will survive their disease.

Through a continued commitment to research, our scientists will be able to unravel the mystery of sarcoma and cancer. Your support can make the difference.

To Volunteer
We need help!  We are
looking for people to serve as Pond Marshals during the tournament weekend.  No need to commit to the whole weekend (unless, of course, you want to!) – if you’ve got
a few hours to spare, we sure could use your help.  Email us at taylorcup@rogers.com for more info.
